Delhi Police Seize Over 500 kg Cocaine in Record ₹2,000 Crore Drug Bust
**New Delhi: Police Seize Over 500 kg of Cocaine Worth ₹2,000 Crore in Largest Drug Bust**
In what marks the biggest drug bust in Delhi’s history, law enforcement officers seized more than 500 kg of cocaine today, valued at a staggering ₹2,000 crore. Four individuals have been arrested following a major raid in south Delhi, according to the police.
Authorities revealed that an international drug trafficking syndicate is believed to be behind the massive cocaine haul, with investigations underway to track the full extent of the network involved.
This recent operation comes just days after two Afghan nationals were apprehended in Tilak Nagar, Delhi, in possession of 400 grams of heroin and 160 grams of cocaine. The crackdown on drug smuggling continues with an increasing focus on international routes.
On the same day as the Tilak Nagar arrests, Delhi Customs officials intercepted a passenger at Indira Gandhi International Airport, confiscating 1,660 grams of cocaine worth over ₹24 crore. The individual, a Liberian national, had arrived in Delhi from Dubai and was detained under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985.
Delhi Customs later posted on X, stating, “Based on profiling, Customs at IGI Airport seized 1,660 grams of cocaine worth ₹24.90 crore from a male passenger of Liberian nationality who arrived from Dubai. The individual has been arrested under the NDPS Act, 1985.”
This series of arrests and drug seizures underscores the increasing vigilance by law enforcement agencies to tackle the growing threat of international drug smuggling in the capital. The investigation into the cocaine syndicate remains ongoing.
